It appears that the wisdom of Solomon would be requisite in dealing with the many domestic and foreign policy issues that America faces today if our nation is to be successful.
Solomon, in all of his glory and riches, came to some interesting conclusions about life. He struggled to find significance in daily living, but came to the conclusion that he was doing so in vanity and grasping for the wind.
Solomon learned over the course of his life that he could not live as if there was no God. He came to realize that our ultimate purpose is wrapped up in our relationship with the God who made us. This applied to all areas of life.
It’s on this point that I will focus. I’m confident, first and foremost, that Solomon would advise his people to get right with God, and then he would take steps to ensure godly leadership for his nation. You build a solid foundation before you build the next level of the house. If you do not, then that house will eventually falter.
America once had a solid foundation but today it does not. It has built its house on secular and humanistic sand. As a government, it has defied the living God. As a nation, it has gone astray from its source of grace and protection. Its house will not stand if it continues on its present course.
Message from Solomon to America — get “Right” with God, individually and corporately as a nation.
