Apparently a female student who transitioned to identifying as a male was crowned prom king recently at a Massachusetts High School. According to an article by Calvin Freiburger, the transition started in eighth grade. Nicole, now Nicholas, legally changed her name, and after years of consultation with a primary care doctor, endocrinologists, psychologists, therapists, and a support group, she underwent testosterone treatments, and gender-transition surgery.
My heart is touched when I read about a story like this. Why? Because it’s wrong. Mainstream media may spin this as a “feel good” story, but in reality, it’s not. God allows mankind the freedom of choice; however, mankind often chooses wrong. Acts of transition into the other sex with treatments, therapy, and gender-altering surgery is wrong.
Many in society today say it’s all right to do your own thing. There are no moral absolutes. After all, one should please oneself. I differ because I believe there are moral absolutes. They are derived from the Bible. The Bible gives definitive guidance on morality, and ethical values. Our criminal justice system is derived from the Judeo-Christian values of the Bible.
Many factors affect one’s perspective on their being, including social pressures, environment, and demonic influence. Sex change is not in one’s best interest. Studies are already proving the negative effects from these transitions.
