One of the most outstanding sites that I’ve ever seen in my life was the Grand Canyon. I’ve traveled extensively throughout the world and have seen some pretty impressive sites; however, when I came up to the North Canyon Rim of the Grand Canyon and looked over the rail I was awestruck.
The Grand Canyon is clearly an amazing creation. Of course, there are different views of how it was created over time. I, along with many others, believe that the biblical flood had a vast influence on its creation. For example, fossil-laden Redwall Limestone at Bright Angel Point in the Grand Canyon can be traced across the bulk of the continent, and correlates with equivalent layers in Europe and Himalayas in Asia. I believe, not only did the flood make mineral deposits from land areas miles away, but it also carved the Grand Canyon terrain in a miraculous manner.
Consider also Zion National Park and the extensive Navajo Sandstone deposits. The grains of sand in its massive bed, which covers 140,000 square miles and 2,200 feet thick, are believed to have come all the way from the Appalachian Mountains. How else could such an enormous amount of sand have been transported across the continent except by a worldwide flood of epic proportions?
The biblical flood is key to unlocking the mysteries of these rock formations along with the mixed contents of layered deposits. The Bible not only provides direction for living, but explains geological mysteries if we take time to look.
