WWJD is a common acronym seen on stickers or bracelets throughout America. It translates to “What would Jesus do?” In regard to the current state of our government and nation, I ponder “WWJD” if Jesus were the newly elected president.
Some things come to mind immediately of which I’m confident. First, I already know that he would pray for decisions to be made on behalf of the people and nation. Second, I perceive that his first steps at his inauguration speech would be to call America to repentance without any political rhetoric or political correctness in his words. You see, Jesus focused on truth, for he knew that truth sets one free. He would cut to the crux of the matter.
He would seek righteousness for this nation. His righteous anger was ever so present when he chased the money changers out of the temple area. I believe that he would immediately call America to repentance and fasting for the sins of this nation against almighty God. As a leader, he would lead in righteousness. You see, the word of God clearly states that righteousness exalts a nation. Change the spirit of a man and you change his direction. Change the spirit of a nation and you change its direction.
Of course, I don’t think the people would elect Jesus, for you see, as a government and nation, America has currently rejected his leadership. I pray that there would be an immediate change of heart for the sake of America.
