No creature is designed like a human. Our ability to communicate, understand, feel emotions, and to rationally think seems to demonstrate that we were created for a purpose. Evolutionists, however, believe that human beings just evolved with no special design or purpose. Which is true?
Humans are creative, emotional and spiritual beings, distinct from the animal kingdom. Humans have the unique ability to communicate thoughts and emotions through language. Consider how human speech and writing contain intricate sounds, developed grammar and abundant words. Notice that humans have a uniquely long throat, flexible tongue, fine lips, and precise vocal cords. Up to 100 muscles are at work during communication, and the brain is processing information at a tremendous rate. Verbal skills like these don’t just evolve from apes.
Consider how humans are capable of a wide range of emotions. Scientists know that part of the brain is dedicated to emotional feelings, but they cannot explain where these feelings come from. Humans derive pleasure in many unique ways. Beauty is appreciated through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. Humans may stop to appreciate a beautiful sunrise or sunset, unlike other animals.
Humans also exhibit rational thought and self-awareness. Animals, in contrast, are obedient to instinct. Further, consider the number of extensive and verified cases of one’s spirit leaving one’s body in hospital emergency room situations. Yes, man has a spirit, also known as one’s conscience.
Why was man created? He was created to know and glorify God in a personal relationship.
