As I made a funeral home visit this past week, I pondered some thoughts as I extended condolences to parents who had tragically just lost their daughter. First, even if someone is nice, was that person saved? Second, which I pondered later, who consoled the Father when Jesus was brutally beaten and then put to death on the cross?
Being just nice doesn’t necessarily means one gets to heaven. The Bible makes it very clear that the way to the Father is through His Son, Jesus Christ. One must receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing that He died on the cross for their sins and rose from the dead for their justification. If one does not have a relationship with Jesus before one dies, then it’s too late when one gets to the funeral home. There’s a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.
Man does not fully understand what was going on in the spiritual realm when Jesus died? I’m confident that there was great pain in the Father’s heart as Jesus was horribly beaten and then crucified. Love between each other was phenomenal for lack of better expression. This cannot be denied. Separation between the Father and Jesus took place during this traumatic period of time when Jesus took the sin of mankind. Heartache must have been tremendous.
I believe condolences to the Father can be best expressed in this manner. First, receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Second, give our Heavenly Father much praise and worship.
